iPhone S or iPhone 6S is regarded as one of the best buys for smartphone products. It’s been released for almost 4 years ago but still going strong and provides a great value phone for people who don’t want to get the more expensive iPhone such as iPhone X and iPhone 8. With a lot of price cuts and much cheaper to get refurbished and outside of the Apple Store, the iPhone S Specification could be your answer for a great ‘budget’ phone.

iPhone S Design
Design-wise iPhone S is great, Apple also believes that the design needn’t be changed for iPhone 8. That just shows how much people love the iPhone S design. A lot of people consider it to be the classic design, curved side and large bezel have been the staple for smartphone designs. There is not much to be said about the design, besides it’s being a classic. Just know it’s comfortable to grasp. It fits easily into your pocket and bag. Lightweight and won’t slip out of your hand like some phones.
iPhone S Specification still has the headphone jack, a relic of the past. The power button and volume keys are on the side of the phone. The home button is also present. Pretty much the old smartphone design, not a negative for sure. There are a lot of people who got fed up with new smartphone designs.
The screen is IPS LCD, it’s not OLED but still great. A great viewing angle and color were accurate. Don’t expect too much for the sharpness. it’s not great but it isn’t the worse either. The details are good, the resolution might start getting outdated since most phones come with higher resolution. Nothing to complain about though. 3D Touch is a very nice additional feature that saves time when navigating around. You can browse and open apps easily without pressing the screen too many times. It might feel weird the first time you’re using it, but once you get used to it, it feels so easy to use 3D touch. Some reviewers even put 3D touch as the best feature the iPhone S Specification has. You should take your time to learn how to use it.
iPhone S Performance
iPhone S is fast. That’s right, it still performs well. It won’t be the number 1 phone in a performance, but it can compete with other similar phones even at a higher price range. A9 SoC with new PowerVR GPU and 2 cores @1.8GHz and 2GB of RAM will allow you to do a lot with the phone with no problems whatsoever. 2GB of RAM is enough for iPhone S Specification, you won’t have a problem with it. Some people might be worried that it’s the opposite and we understand that since generally phones have at least 3GB of RAM nowadays. During the test with 10 tabs of web browser, there were no issues at all. The phone still performs at the level that we expected it to be.
The battery could an issue for most people. It doesn’t store a lot of energy, so you might have to charge more often.
The camera is already showing its age. 12MP camera might not be enough at all for today’s standard and f/2.2 aperture lens is narrow too. The depth of field and brightness levels are not up to standard anymore. But of course, you can still take good pictures with the phone camera. The color is nice, complete with smooth gradations and excellent native dynamic range. It’s just that the standard got much higher for the past few years.
iPhone S Price
Overall, iPhone S is still a good buy. The price range won’t break your bank and the performance that you’ll get with this phone won’t let you down. But there are some newer phones with a similar price tag that perform much better than iPhone S. Such as OnePlus 6 which is $50 more expensive and there also Honor 10 which is a much better buy at a similar price.
